If what we are doing in the Initiative is to make a difference to the field then we have to think now about how we:
· make known what we are doing, and
· develop ways of thinking and acting which allow both us and other workers, trainers and policy makers to improve practice.
On this page is some guidance for workers and managers in the Rank network. Your key contact is Mark K. Smith, Rank Research Fellow and Tutor.
It is the job of the project worker to prepare a page for the main Rank website in the first months of the project. Check out the briefing.
Each year your project has to provide an annual account of its activities for the Rank Charities - along with a financial statement. In the first year the report is edited and produced in a collection alongside those from other new projects. The College provides editorial assistance - and prepares and prints the reports. A full briefing is downloadable in pdf format.
We are developing a range of ways of telling people about the work and developments taking place – and will ask you to contribute. These include:
Reporting. You will need to produce regular reports and short descriptions of your work. The initial tasks are to produce a report for the Rank Foundation on the first year of your project and a web page.
Articles. We will be asking you to write short pieces for the Rank web pages about your work – and to look at what can be written for magazines. We’d also like to hear from you if there is something you want to write about.
Write-ups. These are longer pieces – chapters, journal articles, fuller web pages and reports. Again, please contact us with any ideas.
Some guidance on writing up can also be downloaded from infed.org.
