A Youth or Adult? Initiative 2006-2011
St Georges Youth Project is an initiative within the Lee Mount area of Halifax which started September 2006.
The Youth Project is open to all young people within the area regardless of social background. The project aims to provide young people with information, advice and guidance through group work activities along with additional one to one support, available to any young person who feels they would benefit from this.
Currently there are two projects up and running on a weekly basis; Girls football training and a Street Dance session. We are also focusing on refurbishing a part of the building to provide young people with a drop in youth club.
St Georges is making close relationships with other agencies within Halifax to see how we can work together to raise awareness around current issues that young people face in everyday life, to help young people achieve their ambitions and also trying to give young people the chance to access other services within the area.
