A Youth or Adult? Project 2006-2011
The
primary aim of Bolton Lads and Girls Club is to provide activities and
support services for children and young people from across Bolton.
Since 1889 the Club has offered activities and support to some of the
Borough’s most disadvantaged young people.
The main aims of the Club are to:
Provide leisure, social and supporting activities for young people that are affordable to all – only £5 per year membership and 40p per four hour visit to the Club.
Provide inclusive activities that cater fully for young people with disabilities.
Provide support and guidance through mentoring and one-to-one work with young people.
Encourage integration and offer services that recognise and respect cultural differences.
The main activities of the Club include: art and crafts; performing arts; ICT; recreational activities; sports – football, badminton, basketball, short tennis, table tennis, rounders, cricket, netball; mentoring and one-to-one support for young people facing challenges in their lives; outreach and detached work, taking recreational provision and youth worker support into the heart of communities; participation and accreditation projects; challenging residential opportunities; outdoor adventure; out of school care and more.
